Claims against Eddie Lyons and Raymond James – Shreveport Louisiana

Breese Law Office PLLC has filed an arbitration claim with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) against Raymond James on behalf of 39 former customers of Eddie Lyons, a broker in its Shreveport LA office. Mr. Lyons was fired in April, 2017 for allegations of unauthorized trading – a serious violation of the law and industry rules.

Upon investigation we found that not only was he engaging in unauthorized trading, but he was also purchasing for his clients – often without their knowledge – high-risk oil and gas master limited partnerships (MLPs) that were totally unsuitable for the client accounts. Many of these were retirement accounts, one was for a charity that feeds the homeless and one for a church. When oil prices dropped, some of these companies went bankrupt and others lost more than half their value. Clients who owned the securities issued by these MLPs suffered grievous losses in their portfolios.
